A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hey, I have a lot to ask about, so please have patience with me. Thanks.

Okay, well first off, I've been trying to know as much about my period as I can. And I know I've only had it for a year and that my body's still adjusting, but is it normal to have your period twice in a month. This happens to me a lot and sometimes I feel like there's a problem with me. I'd like to know how girls go or have gone to school with their period, cuz that's where I struggle the most. For me I go to school with a pad and i have a little pouch in my backpack with extras. I try to go to the bathroom whenever I can but sometimes I have to sign out a pass and I only have so many passes per quarter of school. And my biggest fear is that I'm going to have an accident or that some one's going to find out and make fun of me. My parents tell me the only reason I have problems is because in my mind I make it worse than it really is. But sometimes I can't control my nerves which cause my period to get heavy. I get especially nervous when I have to go to gym because running around also makes my period heavy. So I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how they dealt with their periods at school so I can have some insight for what to do next time. The other problem is that a lot of times before, during, and after my period, I get these painful stomach aches that totally ruin my day and keep me from leaving the house.

My other questions are about...nudity. Now I'm a very shy person, so when it comes to nudity, I get kinda nervous. Like when watching a movie if there's nudity in it and I'm around other people, I start to feel uncomfortable. I don't much mind it if I see it and I'm alone, but around people just makes me nervous. It makes me feel like I'm a weird person. Like if I go to the store with my mom, I tell her I want my own dressing room cuz we used to share. I just get nervous. I was wondering if anyone else ever had a problem like this.

Any advice will help

Thanks:) sorry it's so long!

i eventually grew out of it, and you will too!

Your perfectly normal, dont worry about anything !

I can't help you much with your first question being a guy, but I'd like to help you out with your second question.

It sounds to me like you are just modest. There is absolutely nothing wrong with modesty. I am the exact same way.

As you get older you will probably feel a little more comfortable about the subject.

Finally when you meet that special someone and fall in love, I am guessing you will find that you can be perfectly comfortable around them in your own skin. That's the beauty of intimacy. You are sharing a part of yourself with no one else but that other person. It truly is a gift.

But for now, I wouldn't worry about anything. You sound perfectly normal.

You're just growing up. I'm in my 20s now and my periods are starting to get better (in terms of knowing when it's going to happen), but I definitely remember being in your shows around your age and sometimes having two in one month...not fun, but it's all normal. It's just your body's way of saying "this is new for us too, so be patient while we figure it out."

For the painful stomach pains, my first reaction was that you were having cramps (which I get soooo bad), but you said you get them after your period, which I don't...I usually get them a few days before I'm about to start and the first day (really, really bad). It sounds normal to me but maybe someone else can explain that better.

And, honey, I'm still shy about seeing myself naked. I mean, I don't hate how I look (I would like to change a couple things if I could), but it's just natural for most women to be conscientious. I absolutely hated having to get new bras before each school year cause then my mom would be in the dressing room with me and I hated having her see me like that. Her response? "Oh I've seen it all before." So don't feel badly that you're shy about that. You're still growing up into an adolescent.
