It is a possibility, as damluvaam points out, none of them are 100% effective (though tubal ligation and vasectomy seem to give the very best results). Sounds like you could use some reliable information about birth control. Start here:

One couple I know has two lovely little girls. They had not planned on having any children--they laugh ruefully and say that his sperm must have been very determined.
My suggestion to you is to double or triple up on contraceptive methods. That will mininize your risk. You can read this chart for some links to information about all the various types of birth control.
