Hey

Been on microgynon 30 for almost 3 months now, and have only just started having sex just with the pill (only done it once on sunday, we're all in the clear regarding STIs etc) with my bf, but lo and behold I'm still worried. I've been on time for all my pills in my current (3rd) pack, I have NEVER missed a pill, but have taken a couple late (ie. 12 hr gap) in my first pack and in second pack, but within 12hr time frame. Am I worrying for no reason?

Sorry for the delay, but thanks for your answers. I used to have a pill alarm on fone but as it was not always to hand i find it easier to take it upon waking in the morning. Thanks Emilysanswers, unfortunately much pill info out there is conflicting and I myself have been told by various health professionals that the pamphlets that come with pills are out of date and over-cautious but I follow the instructions to the letter anyway for extra peace of mind. What can I say; sex has been very daunting for me! Thanks everyone for your support

sarah_s agony auntI was in your shoes when I took Microgynon 30 for at-least 4 months thinking what will happen but, taking it for 11 months now still nothing. As long you stay faithful to your time when you take it you won't get pregnant.

Read the little leaflet that comes with the pills and that should reassure you a bit.

It's always scary having sex for the first time on the pill, and when you change brands.

As long as you aren't over 12 hrs late taking your pill on the few days around when you are having sex then you should be fine.

After 3 months it is likely that you have stopped producing eggs anyway.

Good Luck!! xx

I do believe you are! Once you've had a few periods I'm sure you'll come to trust the pill. As far as I know it's about 100% effective, even if there's some irregularity in taking them.

Make it your routine to take a pill with your early morning cuppa. Put the packet next to the teabags or coffee jar to make remembering easier.
