Really depends how far into your pregnancy you are.
As Mommyofone stated sounds like braxton hick contactions. While these are no cause for concern i can only advice you to try to relax when you get them practise your breathing ...breathe OUT on the pain!! beleive me it helps!!
If you're nearly full term then keep a record of when you get them..how long they last for, it will help to recognise when labour starts.
as for the dr issue...please...see someone else..trust in your doctor at this precious time is PARAMOUNT!!! you need to be as focused and relaxed as you possibly can...please see someone else!!!
all the luck in the world with your wonderful bundle

If you cannot trust your doctor, always remember that you may always go see another doctor just for a second opinion without needing to change doctors. Perhaps if you do that, you might find a doctor that you are more comfortable with as well.

Yep. Sounds like a braxton hicks contraction. Which are just "practice" contraction. They are normal. Happens to most women. Towards the end of my pregnancy, I would have them multiple times a day. As long as there is no blood, and they are not happening consistently (as in a pattern of say, 3 or 6 minutes apart for more than an hour) I wouldn't worry about it.
Round ligament pain can also be very startling and I've seen 2 of my friends rush to an ER or it. RL pain is a VERY sharp pain on either side of your uterus. Also harmless and completely normal.
I must say, that trust in your dr is key. And if you question your dr's abilities, or just plain out don't trust or/like her, you really should look into another dr. This is very vital!
