Question - (7 August 2010) 2 Answers - (Newest, 7 August 2010)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

So I've been with my boyfriend for almost 4 yrs now and I wanna be different and propose. I found the perfect ring for him on Zales but its pre-owned. It was returned before the 100th day of its purchase. That's the only ring I really like but I don't think anyone would want pre-owned jewlery. What should I do?

chigirl agony auntDon't buy it. Your gut is already telling you this will be a bad idea. The right ring will show up eventually, and it is not this one. But this is good, now you know what you like at least! But try and remember, if it is a ring for him you are about to buy, it doesn't matter as much if YOU like it, but if HE will like it. And if he wont like a pre-used ring.. then don't buy it. No matter how pretty it is. Pre-used is only ok when its inherited or family jewelry, or holds some special story to it.
