Hello everybody,

I am in my 20s, finishing college, and have never been in a relationship.

I had sex but it was not with people that I had any feelings for; it was absolutely physical. I am not proud of this fact but I felt the need and did it. However, for me, sex without any mental attachment is meaningless.

I am at a point in my life that the lack of experience in relationships is a huge negative point specially that I live in US. Btw, I should mention that I moved to US about 10 yrs ago from a completely different culture.

I am shy, and don’t have a lot of confidence around girls whom I LIKE TO GO OUT WITH. My female friends tell me that I am a genuinely nice person and the girl that will eventually go out with me is a lucky girl. (sorry, I am not trying to be selfish or anything. Just want to give you a semi-clear picture of my personality). Whether that’s right or wrong, I have to figure it out.

However, since last year, lack of a girl in my life that I can talk to, kiss, etc. has started bothering me and it has increased dramatically over the past 12 months.

I really feel the need to have a girlfriend but at the same time I feel incapable of approaching girls.

What should I do?

Thanks sb4100. I already tried an online dating site but didn't have much luck.

internet dating will help you, find your pick before you meet them so you get to know them, just find the ones you like and chat to them, if you find one, getting chatting on online, then exchange numbers and then meet. this will help you as you will feel you know the person and will not greatly effect your confidence to talk to them, as you have a lot of knowledge of the person which you can talk about.
