writes:hi there i met thing girl last weekend at my friends party. i only knew 3 people there who i go to college with and i knew 1 other who goes to the same college as me but she's in another class doing another course and we don't talk and didn't know each other before the party and yes she is the girl i like.i added her on fb and she accepted and we have alot in common just by her likes. at the party we were talking about footballbecause we are both big fans and we support the same team. i haven't seen her online to talk to and we are coming back from a half term break tomorrow.how do i strike up a convosation with her and do i tell my friend who's party it was that i like her friend?thank you all Reply to this Question

reader, anonymous, writes (27 February 2011): I was recently watching some movies from the 80s and 90s and noticed at least in the plots, friends used to inform friends who was interested in them, if they were single or not, and give adivce. That seems to be less prevalent with facebook and the internet...it made me feel a little nostalgic.I think it's best to ask her out on a date directly if you're interested. But dropping a hint via your friend is fine and very old school in a nice way. I'm sure she'd rather her get a hint from a friend than getting a poke on facebook. But asking her directly is probably the best way.
