Partner questioning our relationship now that he seen his ex

Tagged as: The ex-factor<< Previous question   Next question >>
Question - (25 May 2009) 1 Answers - (Newest, 4 June 2009)
A male United States age 51-59, anonymous writes:

I'm gay and have been dating a guy for almost a year. We were making plans to move in together and start a life together.

The problem is an ex boyfriend came to town for a weekend, and I was out of town at the time. This ex stayed at his house. My "partner" said nothing happened and I do beleive him, but this brought up old feelings he had for this ex and now he is questioning our relationship.

I'm in love with him, more then I ever have been with anyone, He says the will have no more contact but I'm still worried.

Any advice?

A male reader, Who United States +, writes (4 June 2009):

Who agony auntTake him at his word. If you two are going “start a life together” you are going to have to trust each other. A lot of the romance business cannot be figured out, you just have to close your eyes and jump. If he is the right one for you he will ensure you have a soft landing. And also pick you up those times you jump and hit the concrete.

Best of luck and hope this helps.
