I looked at other options but they either don't work out or I don't have that much money. But I had told him that I would go, and when I said that I couldn't, I really disappointed him...He says that it's fine, but I don't really think that it is.I feel absolutely terrible. What can I do to make it up to him?And how can I convince my parents that I am old and mature enough to travel by myself? Thanks.

Sorry, but I'm a bit old fashioned here... surely he should be making arrangements to come and see you?
