A uti is not an std its just a bacterial infection, its nothing to be ashamed of. Everybody gets them once in a while. The downside is that you HAVE to go to the doc because the only way to cure it is to take antibiotics. And if you don't cure it right away it could cause serious harm to your ovaries. So you need to make an appt TODAY. Otherwise its not going to get any better, just worse. Just go its no big deal, but go today, its important.

cystopurin is a drink you can get over the counter for it, its gross but it works. it sounds like yours isnt too serious and it should go away after the juice and stuff. theres no need to tell your mum if you dont want to cos you dont need to go to the doc

Sounds like cystitis. If you dont want to go to the docs or tell your mum then drink fresh cranberry juice, lots of it, it works everytime for me. Your local shop should have it in the chiller section. I also think boots have a drink you take to treat cystitis but Im pretty sure it just contins cranberries and will cost you more. If you dont feel better in a day or two or if you develop a temperature or severe pain then please see the doc as only antibiotics will cure it if it turns into a urinary tract infection. Cystitis is common in young girls and some women are plagued with it throughout life. Just make sure he is a bit more gentle and you are well lubricated to try and avoid it in the future x

Could be a urinary tract infection.
UTI's are considered common, caused by many different things. However, in your case it is most likely caused by sexual intercourse.
UTI's are easily treated. Some oral antibiotics are prescribed and taken until finished.
However, having said all that, I could be wrong. This is why you will need to see your doctor. UTI's while easily treatable when found early, can turn for the worse if left alone too long.
Hope this helps.

If you used precutions you probably just have cystitis, (not sure if thats spelt right) its fairly common, so dont worry. But with anything like this, you should always get profesional advice. There is nothing wrong with going to your doctor, he will have dealt with stuff like this many times. Please get checked out, because if you leave it it can move to your kidneys and you really dont want an infection there (its bloody painfull). See the doctor, he or she will put your mind at ease and you will feel better in hours.

You can get cystitis without being sexually active. So you dont have to admit that to your mother. Just tell her your pee stings and what does she think you should do...
You can try Citro Soda, which alkalinises the urine so that it doesnt sting so much. This is available without presciption from Boots. And hope your body neutralises the infection on its own. But if it gets worse you will need antibiotics.

Sweetie, sounds like you might have an urinary tract infection.... nothing uncommon in females.... although you might need some antibiotics to clear it up. In the meantime drink lots and lots of water, cranberry juice is also very good... and if it doesnt start to improve in a day or so, you must tell your mother to take you to the doctor.
