I habe the same reaction to a medical diagnosis to loosing a wallet- both freaks- everything worries me- every day is a battle- I've tried drugs(they make me paranoid) tried exercise -It's "okay" but I wanted to see if anyone had any advice on how can I get my mind to stop thinking and stop worrying? I can't think of a day where I didn't worry for an hour. I have a lot of anxiety in my life because I have to support myself which makes it hard with my school loans - I want to ask how to be clam naturally and joe to be optimistic and how to relax? Anyone have tips on how to shut my brain? Books? I feel like I have been like this since I was a teen and i can't stop this routine of freaking out of everything and it makes me so sad! Please advise.

Hi OP.
I have anxiety issues (I'm diagnosed) as well and I find that what helps me keep my mind at ease is doing yoga and exercising. It sounds ridiculous but it works for me. Straight forward meditation doesn't work for me because my mind wanders while I'm trying to clear my head. I can only really reach a state of relaxation and a stress free zone when I'm doing yoga.
You don't even have to pay to take yoga, you can check on youtube for some instructors. Find someone with a calming voice that soothes you. Try starting off by searching "yoga for beginners" because it will ease you in to the art of yoga. Not only does yoga and exercise keep you fit and toned, it also boosts your energy and improves your sleep. I know that with my anxiety I struggle to sleep and even if I do, I have stressful dreams, its basically as if my anxiety follows me in to my sleep so to combat this, the exercise and yoga increase my quality of sleep. You can even walk for 30 minutes a day and do yoga for another 30 and I promise you that your condition will improve.
Listen to soothing music that gives you a sense of ease as well because I know that helps me when I'm freaking out.
Surround yourself with positive energies and talk yourself down when you feel as though you're losing your mind. Keep a journal to document your episodes. Write about what is happening in your head and how you're feeling in the moment.
Use all of those as part of a routine that you feel comfortable with or what works for you
