I got a 3.00 GPA last marking period which i was proud of. but this marking period I have a 2.50. Today I got so stressed out my mom said I could stay home and work on the stuff I needed to get done for school in order to be caught up. A couple weeks earlier I was feeling stressed about getting ready for college. So I called my sister and told her what was going on. - I honestly feel like I'm not good enough to get into a(n) (art) college... I feel like my grades suck, my portfolio will suck, the fact that I'm staying home it's all just making me feel like I'm a failure. -My sister told me not to worry and that junior year is important, but it's not THAT serious. I just have to make sure I do good on my last marking period of the year and stuff. She also said that most art colleges although they look at your grades and educational achievements the art is what's really important. So maybe I'm just over analyzing things? I don't know. Has anyone felt this overwhelmed when getting ready for college? Do you have any advice on how to make things less stressful?I just want to look good for college. I don't want to disappoint myself or anyone else.

“So maybe I'm just over analyzing things? I don't know.”Yes you are over analyzing. And yes you don’t know. Yet.Junior year is important, as is getting into collage. Just like having friends and having fun is important. Life is a long haul with lots of hurdles that keep coming. It is not like you have to get good grades in one year of high school, get into a good collage and be set for life. You need to pace yourself and keep your balance. After a while you will sailing over ever hurdle you come across, and will look back at now and wonder why you were so overwhelmed and overworked. You will trip over a few hurdles too; everyone does. You pick yourself up, re-asses and start off again. Look around you high school at the kids who cut class, steal, fight, overuse drugs, alcohol and sex, and have some fantasy of how their life will go based on some TV show. Those are the screw-ups, not you. That fact you are concerned about and are working for you future means you will have a good one, no matter what. .
