What you and him will like best for your first time is up to you and him. Discuss it with him instead. The fancy lingerie part is over-rated though. I tried that for my first times because I thought I needed it, but guys don't really care that much. Instead wear something comfortable that you actually feel great about. After all you're supposed to get naked, so whatever you wear doesn't really matter, and if you doll up a lot you will just get nervous. And then if he doesn't care about the fancy lingerie you will just get disappointed.
I mean do you even know if he likes certain types of lingerie? In my experience most men don't care about that, they are way more interested in what's underneath, so don't go through any extra trouble with lingerie please, unless you are doing it for your own sake! Because he probably won't care, and you will be lucky if he even put on a pair of clean boxers. So talk to him about this, about expectations and what to wear and where to go and what to do etc.
