A male reader, daletom United States +, writes (10 August 2010):

According to the "Roman Catholic Moral Theology" site at http://www.catholicplanet.com/CCSE/marriage-sins.htm :

"Sexual Sins within Marriage"

"Certain kinds of sexual acts are intrinsically evil and are therefore always immoral . . .

Examples of intrinsically disordered sexual acts include: masturbation, homosexual acts, any sexual acts with more than two participants, oral sex, anal sex, manual sex, sexual acts involving objects or devices, etc.

These sexual acts can never be justified . . . (they) are unnatural because they violate the natural law. The human person was designed by God so that sexual relations would consist in acts of genital-to-genital intercourse, open to life, between one man and one woman. Other kinds of sexual acts are contrary to this intention and purpose of God, which He designed within human nature.

. . . a husband cannot deliberately stimulate the genital organs of his wife in order to give her sexual pleasure, for such an action . . . is "intrinsically and gravely disordered." . . . regardless of whether this "deliberate stimulation of the genital organs" is done with the hand or the mouth or an object, it remains . . . intrinsically and gravely disordered . . . "

You can go to the site and check all the cross-references to the Catechism, "Persona Humana" (1975), et al. It looks pretty well supported and official to me - but I'm not, and have never considered myself, Roman Catholic so there may be other equally authoritative statements with a different message. In practice, it is well-known that the majority of U.S. people who identify themselves as "Roman Catholic" do not follow the Church's teaching or practices. (The same is true of Presbyterians, Methodists, Baptists, etc, etc.)

A male reader, Odds United States +, writes (7 August 2010):

Odds agony auntThe Catholic position on sex is that, within the confines of marriage, sex serves the purpose of reproduction and fecundity.

Fr. Larry Richards, a Catholic preacher, has gone on record as saying that, so long as oral sex is part of sex leading up to actual reproduction, it's within moral boundaries. I'm not certain if he was referring to oral sex within a single night leading up to vaginal sex, or oral sex as part of a regime over the course of an entire, fecund marriage.

Haven't heard anything from the Vatican on the issue, though.

Personally, since oral sex makes you man more loyal to you, I would think that it makes him less inclinded to divorce, and therefore, it should be ok - but I'm a protestant.

If you are married I don't see why God** would have a problem. Some self righteous Prudes might, but not God.
