Older men always buy me drinks or ask me out but people my age don't seem that fussed. What's the deal?

A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Whenever people are interested in me, they are always at least 10 years older than me. I can never get anybody who is the same age as me. I look quite young too, everyone thinks I'm about 18 when I'm 23. I was just wondering what men my age are attracted to. Im quite confident, always the 1st to dance when Im out. Not like mouth all mighty or obnoxious though. I'm not bad looking, not a model or anything! But slim with big boobs! Lol.

Anyway, even if I show interest in people my own age they don't seem that fussed. But older men always buy me drinks or ask me out. They are nice looking and stuff but I wouldn't mind having a relationship with someone my own age. What do men in their 20s go for??

LazyGuy agony auntWell two things might be happening. First, are you hanging out in the wrong areas? I a 15 years older then you and most certainly would not be hanging around in the same places as men your age. In short, how could an old man like me buy you a drink unless you are in old man places?

Second, young men lack confidence. Confidence comes with age and experience and power, something you men like. You might simply be too intimidating.

As for what men in their 20's go for... eh... wow that is long ago... oh yeah. Anything with breasts and a pulse. But nothing too scary. Certainly not a confident woman who is always 1st on the dance floor. She might bite! Or worse, say YES! Remember, a lot of young men are like dogs chasing cars, all fun and games until they actually catch one.

Hey it's the same with me, I don't go to nightclubs or anything because i'm underage but whenever I go out there's always 25+ men staring, car-beeping or whistling at me! I'm only 16 so I get kinda freaked out by it :S But i'm into older guys anyway so I suppose it's a good thing I attract that age group. And like at school I don't seem to get any attention at all! The only conclusion I can come to is that we look older than we are! Or... maybe the guys are just perverts lol! x

Hiya,

Well all men are different, so what one man finds attractive another man may not.

Its kind of strange because most Women prffer Men to be older then them, and most Men preffer Women to be younger than them!. It kind of balances out. In my experience most Men in their 20s are more concerned about having fun, so maybe thats why most men that approach you are older than you.

I would'nt worry too much about dating someone your own age, its not all its cracked up to be anyway!. Most women find Men of their own age can be quite immature, especially if they are in their 20s. which is why most Women go for Men that are older than them.

If it was ment to be then it will happen, just relax and have fun.

xx
