Now the red-ness has inflamed again and it gets very very itchy at times, and always leaves specs of blood on the tissue paper after the toilet. I really don't know what this is? Any ideas on what it could be or how to deal with it.

I currently have thrush and have found a bog standard over the counter thrush cream has helped alot along with taking two baths a day with two handfuls of sea salt added to each bath. Still a little itchy at times but its basically all gone and i only started with symtoms last monday the 14th of june and treatment on the 16th as i couldn't stand it any longer. personally i don't like doctors so i went for a bit of self help first and if it didn't work, nothing would have kept me away from those docs.

Go to your GP again. OR go to the GUM clinic at your local hospital, you could also try sex clinics in your area. This could just be thrush again, but it may be something more.
Best of luck

Go to the doctors again! This is a medical question, not a relationship one.
You might have had an allergic reaction to the medication.
