Not into the guy I'm seeing. Is it OK to ask to just be mates?

I am pretty confused about what I want. I have recently split with my bf and my mate introduced me to one of her bf's friends. Even though I told my mate I wasn't interested and I didn't want a realtionship, she is still trying to get us together.

Recently me and this guy kissed and I want to tell him I just want to be mates, but I don't want him to think I have been stringing him along.

Also, I have recently found I have feelings for my ex's brother. He has had feelings for me for a few years, but I never thought I was interested until I split with his brother.

I don't know if any of this will make sense but I can't think of an easier way to explain what is going on in my head at the moment. Please help.

Country Bumpkin agony auntYou need to let this guy know where he stands, now! Don't let him think that you like him in that way when you don't. The longer you leave it the harder it will be for you and the more upset he will be.

The fact that the guy you fancy is your ex's brother shouldn't be a problem. Go for it but get things straight first then leave it a couple of weeks before you get it together with your ex's brother.

Good luck.
