A male reader, daletom United States +, writes (9 September 2008):

For a guy, it would be pretty unusual to bleed from your first sexual experience!

A girl may or may not - don't try to draw any conclusions either way.

A female reader, Emilysanswers United Kingdom +, writes (9 September 2008):

I didn't bleed after my first time.

Back in the day when girls did nothing but sip tea and embroider clothes all day then they would all bleed.

Now that girls climb trees and fall out of them, ride horses, do dancing and gymnastics, ride bikes and all the other running around it's no wonder that the part that bleeds is slowly damaged and lost over years.

Good Luck!! xx
