I hated gym with a passion, hated the coaches, 99% of the kids, the activities... all of it. Couldn't wait to get out of PE. You need to relaize that this is more than about gym class. You're in an uncomfortable situation and your reacting in fear (a normal emotion), but your reaction is excessive. You're not a fault here, but you probably need to go visit with a trusted adult who can walk you though this fear and develop a plan that you can envoke and let you learn some skills that you can use for the rest of your life. I'd suggest starting with a counciler at school, but be prepared to have to go outside the school system. One of your folks insurance may cover counciling for you, in which case I highly recommend taking advantage of it.You don't need to fail this class- any maybe there's another class that the school could put you in. Maybe get another teacher to sponsor you in a "self pace" class... even if it's running around the track alone... as long as you do the work and have some supervision. Please seek some adult advice on this... people really do care and want to help, but it's likely that most of the people around you can't understand the fear and how gripping it can be. Good luck! PS: I got out of high school, and only took one gym class in college, which was a BLAST! College was 1,000 times better than HS, since 99% of the people wanted to be there and since you get to pick your classes, they were things I wanted to do... scuba diving... learned alot, and still enjoy it!
