I know there is A LOT of porn out there, many different genres, featuring a lot of different types of people, amateur, alt porn, etc.But if we talk about mainstream porn, which is the most common type, we'd all agree that the basic female star looks the same: either bleach blonde or black (dyed) long hair, LOTS of make up, big lips, big boobs (usually implants), tiny waist, round butt, thin legs.Most guys I've talked to tell me they watch porn for the acts, and that, hands down, they prefer natural women. Why is it, then, that the most successful porn geared at men features these obviously fake looking women? I mean from what I gather from male friends and what I've read here is that *most* guys prefer a different type of woman than the one shown in porn. Or are guys lying? Do they actually prefer that kind of woman better?I mean, normal, natural looking women don't equal less attractive. I've seen many a natural looking woman who are quite attractive really, but porn is still filled with all these fake looking women! And if the majority of guys prefer normal, natural looking women shouldn't the porn industry cater more to this than the silliconed beauties? I mean, sure, you may not find many naturally large breasted, thin women willing to do porn. Ok, maybe implants *are* necessary for porn standards. But the overprocessed hair? The HUGE amount of make up? Wouldn't it be better for guys that the women didn't have all this?What do you think guys? Are my guy friends just BS-ing me? Or do guys actually prefer natural women, and would enjoy porn better if more natural women were in it?

reader, anonymous, writes (16 July 2010): Could just be me, but when I watch porn I tend to look for things with girls that are actually attractive in a way that I would look for in someone I want to be with...obviously this means that I don't watch much "mainstream" porn...
I also don't have much of a social life, don't get out much, am single, and don't get laid much...so no accounting for tastes, eh?
But when I was married I didn't really look at/watch porn, largely because I don't like the "porn star" look and because I didn't like the idea of a girl who was more my taste, like my wife, being used like that.
Keep in mind though, I'm not exactly a "normal" guy...so my reasons for watching/not watching certain types of porn/girls in porn are likely not the stance of your average guy.

Ill admit, I'm the kind of girl who likes it wild and rough. But also likes it nice and slow, I sometimes do act like what the girls in the movies do, no because he likes it, but that's just how I am. And yet he still would rather watch porn now I'm not the fake body type of girl I'm 5'6" 140lbs and I'm not gonna lie I'm very large chested for my body type. I've been with him for almost 4 years now and he didn't start referring to porn until after we got married about 3years ago. The problem with porn is it sells the hype and you bloody well believe it. Then you stop having sex with your gorgeous partner because she doesn't fuck you like the women do in the porn movie!!! It's funny because the reverse cowboy (apparently very popular in porn), is the most bloody uncomfortable position I've ever tried - my knees were shaking and my partner's john kept slipping out because of the angle. And guess why we tried that position, because he saw it in porn. My partner rarely sleeps with me now and i think he's mind has been fuc&&ed over with porn. He's disappointed with me, because I'm not that wild, trashy porn star - I'd love to say to him "honey, that girl doesn't exist". Playboy and Hustler were the ones who started the whole "you don't like it clearly you're uptight jealous and insecure" thing, sort of like the kids who go, "what you chicken or something?" They really treat it like middle school bullies trying to undermine people to make themselves cooler. So it doesn't make you uptight to have a problem with it. I don't think it's really fair to say half the female population is uptight and insecure. Just stand up for what you believe.

Most women I know find a huge one really painful. During sex it can feel like being punched in the bottom of your stomach really hard. I think the giant penises are mostly there for the men. My understanding is that quite a few men who watch porn fantasize about being the guy (or sometimes the girl) in the porno, so they'd want to fantasize about having a huge one, though I don't know why since it wouldn't feel better for the girl. Might feel worse. So I think really the giant penis thing is more for the guys fantasy than the girls.
A big part of that is also it makes everything more visible on the camera, a lot of the same reason that a lot of the women have ENORMOUS practically mutant-looking sized melons. I've noticed in the sex biz women who work as prostitutes or strippers generally don't have as enormous of a chest as the porn stars. Anyways, yeah I think that's a big part of the huge penis thing too.

Look every industry in the media makes women up and plasters tonnes of makeup on them, photoshops them to look thinner, removes blemishes, uses lighting, focus and angles to make them look plastic and fake.
You turn on the news and the female presenter is caked in make up, her hair is unnaturally shiny and in perfect place.
You open a magazine and you'll see the same thing, and then when celebs etc are shown in their natural state the article is usually about drawing circles highlighting their physical flaws, cellulite, fat rolls, moles etc.
How many actresses in mainstream movies look natural? How many models in the fashion industry look natural? How many women in all forms broadcast industry are natural and haven't had plastic surgery?
It's a media thing, the porn industry is in essence a media industry, with magazines, movies etc. It's only natural that the women in this industry would suffer the same pressures that any other female enternainer would. Female entertainers have to be larger than life to get noticed, lady gaga has to dress up like a retarded clown, britney spears and other teenage singers have to grind poles and become sexualized young.
While women see this as pressure to also be skinny, have great hair etc. We're all told constantly that this is beauty and gys aren;t immune to this either, the only difference with us guys is that we realize that it's only fantasy, real women, with curves small/big natural breasts, extra weight, happy confident normal women. That's what we look for in a partner.
