My close relative die of lung caner just yesterday. He was 67. A great man, and accomplish many, its such a shame because he left behind a relatively young family. My heart goes out his family.
I came on a search to find your post, and i felt i know what you are feeling.
You cannot prepared for what might happen, the only thing you need to do now is to value everyday that you do have with the people you love.

people dont ever die, they move into another space and we are not aware of them.
your uncle is in a calmer place now which is better for him.
dying is a process in life, but you should make best use of the time you have and enjoy your grandma's company.
give her a million kisses if you have to, but dont get too sad over this.
be brave.

Good. You are growing up and starting to realise that life is not unending. That people die. This is sad but it is life.
Feeling sad because someone will die someday is however a bit silly. Wouldn't it be better to go to for instance your grandma and spent some time with her while she is still here?
Maybe you can also have a talk to her about all this and how you feel. She is old, she has been through the same thing as you and much more.
Fearing we might someday not be with out loved ones should be a good thing, it makes us not take things for granted. We do that far to easily. "Oh I will visit her for her next birthday". "Oh I will go hangout with my dad next weekend".

Why are you crying? he has gone and no longer in pain or suffering? Surely this a better thing?
Its sad on one hand. On the other, really we don't know what happens next. I am sure you will meet again. Do you think the caterpillar knows about the butterfly? as it changes from the land creature to something else? do we know what happens after? - really the answer is no. (note i don't think you uncle is a butterfly now).
whats important - important right now is to live and share your time with the people you love wisely and enjoyably. Have fun and laugh - don't worry about the future. It tends to happen regardless of how you feel about it.
Hugs, Star.x.
