Your period is not permanently changed, but I guess that it is affected by you recently having sex for the first time. The menstruation is easily influenced by hormonal changes, or stress. My take on this is that having sex for the first time caused your body some form of stress, and it's just a reaction to it, however mildly. It is very normal that if a woman is stressed, she loses her period. In my case, having a lot to do and being pushed into uncomfortable situations causes bleeding in between the regular periods. So it works differently for all women. Some lose it, some get it, and for some it just changes a bit. But it's not permanent, and next month you will probably have your period as usual.
You said you had sex for the first time, did you use any contraception? Contraceptives for women are hormonal, so that would explain a change in your period as your hormonal levels are changed. When I am on birth control pills my period only lasts 3-4 days, whereas when Im not on birth control it lasts closer to 7 days. Again, this varies from woman to woman.

My periods can vary and even more so after I had my kids.
If your worried though make an appointment with your Doctor not just for a pregnancy test but to discuss options of contraception ect.

Not everyone has clockwork period through out their lives, it comes in stages for most.
Best thing you CAN do though, if this is out of the norm, is see your doctor. But my guess is, you won't.

I don't know, you need to make an appointment with your gynecologist.
