A female Philippines age 26-29, *onfused... writes:

Please help me, I'm 16 years old and my parents refuse to listen to me! they would rather listen to people who have no idea what i do, and then they judge me based on what they hear from those people. Like this one time i got home late, because of a prayer thing. I understand their worry and i admit my fault for not calling. but they refuse to listen to me and instead they take the side of my bitchy Aunt who has no love for me whatsoever, who told them lies about who u was with and what i was doing.

they didnt even bother asking me and just yelled at me when i got home, when i tried explaining they just said

"we wont listen to your lies" and they punish me. What am i supposed to do?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (8 August 2011):

try talking it out with them when they are calmer. If they never calm down, you might be able to talk to a close family friend or relative that can back you up. And the next time you go out somewhere, it might be useful to tell someone your parents really trust exactly where you're going or what you're doing. Hope it helps! and good luck =)

just go with it. i have experienced it when i was 14, i am 22 now and it all went away. they will stop when you are old enough to scold. i guess that's really part of teenage life. are you Filipino also?

*problems* agony auntYour parents are obviously concerned about what you do and your auntie is not doing the situation any favours by lying, why would your auntie lie to them about you? If you could prove to your parents where you where I would! Try speaking to your aunt with your parents there and sort it out!! The trust with your parents will build! Your not going to be 16 forever :)
