When i first moved here i made english friends and sort of stuck with them all through my school years. Many of them have moved back to england and the only 2 i have left have fallen out with me and i dont think we will ever be friends again. I have people i speak to at school but they are in my class. Then in the break i will have nobody. I have tried to persuade my parents to let me study at home for 3 gcses that i can take in a town nearby but they are trying to make me go back to school. Its the last year and they say i wont get anywhere in life if i dont complete this year. What should i do? Any answers appreciated. x Reply to this Question Share |

Your parents are right. Going to school is important as a whole, but this year is the most important of them all. The social and academic aspects are both important, and school is a really fundamental part of growing as a person. You learn things at school that you just wouldn't be able to at home. If you socialize, you can make new friends. You say you already speak to some people in your class, why not ask if you can hang out with them at break? This is just a year remember. You should listen to your parents.

You need to listen to your parents and go back to school, as it's incredibly important. I know your friends are important to you, but if you put in a little effort, you will make new friends. It's really stressful and difficult (both mentally and academically) to switch schools this late in your education.
