A female reader, Angzw Zimbabwe +, writes (31 March 2010):

I dont know a single African teenager who doesn't have this problem. Why do you have to meet him at your house? Why dont you leave the house and go for a walk or go to the movies or even just sit and talk in the park? You know they will start making noise if he comes over so dont let him come over. When you want to go meet him, just tell your parents you are going to see friends, no names.

Try and talk to your parents. Imagine if your parents found out that you were lying. They are probably just being over protective. All they will want as parents is for you to be happy. Good luck x
