reader, anonymous, writes (11 July 2005): Be careful. Remember that people you are online with..may NOT be who they claim to be. Use your gut feelings and do not meet this girl in person...if her behaviour is remotely odd, weird or "not alright". Do you know absolutely for sure..if it is even a female you are talking to? Have you ever spoken to her on the phone? seen her picture? I always tell my own teen and his friends, if someone starts chatting to you in a way that sounds wrong or "off", get out of that chatroom and..never arrange any meeting with anyone without discussing it first with your parents. Again, understand that people online may not be who they claim to be.

reader, anonymous, writes (11 July 2005): Hi, I'm in the same boat - I recently split up/lost faith in the girl i thought i loved - Im 20 she's 18 and she's run off with my mate!I know for a fact that if I went out I would be like a cabbage sitting in the corner of the nightclub becoz I dont know how to flirt and dont know how to have fun. So recently I've been talking loads to this girl on here - she's 17 and we live about an hour apart. Last night we planned to meet for definate in two weeks time, and we have talked about still being friends in years and years time. Even planned 4 us to go on hols together with a group of her mates.She knows how I feel about being a cabbage - and she told me she feels like a cabbage everytime she goes out too. She said that if we were together she would make me get drunk and then would see that 'stuff' just happens. Anyway I really like this girl, so I replied by sayin - "..but if sumthin was gonna happen between us, i'd wanna remember it..." to that she replied by asking whether I wanted a friendship or a relationship. I said a friendship 2 start and if something stronger developed between us then I would obviously be very happy.I guess my point is, everyone of us have times when we are feeling down and times when we are exctatic - we can see them when we are with the person - but cant through the computer screen - i cant be certain my answer is the right one - but it might be. All I can say is good luck on ur friendship with Nat and hope for the best if u plan for something stronger!Gareth.
