Anyway, I've always had oily skin to a degree but nothing too major thats its ever bothered me and now that I am 22 I thought things would be calming. However this past 6 months I;ve been struggling with makeup. Foundation never stays on my face. I alwats put it down to what i used but I;ve gone through about 7 different ones and the same thing happens everytime. After 1-2 hours round my T zone and nose its melting away and really noticeable. Even if I use primer n believe me I;ve used everything from a cheap maybelleine one to boots No.7 and now Smashbox. Its that bad that you can;t physically put foundation on the end of my nose because it makes a ring at the end where it refuses to stick.I have recently found a foundation I love and its not on the cheap side either so I really need to get this sorted. I have alot of redness around my T zone and I have alwats had spots. Even for the past 2 weeks I believe I have worn foundation once just to see if cutting everything out helped and its not different. Im still spotty and greasy.I am on the contraceptive pill however coming off this isnt an option due to medical reasons and within the 3 years of taking this I;ve never had a problem. its just recently and when foundation wont look good after 2-3 hours you know you have a problem. I use an oil free facial wash and mosituriser daily so I don't know what else to do. please please pleaaseeeeee help! Thanks

Dear OP,
I don't know if I'm coming across as a cave-woman here.. but I use no foundation, powder, special facewash, moisturisung lotion on my skin. Except for maybe in winter when my skin's really, really dry.
And I've got quite good skin most of the time.
Whenever I put on foundation, my skin gets spotty and irritated. Same with powder, clogs my pores and makes my skin sweat.
What I want to say is, maybe just use nothing else than water for a while on your face and see if your skin's still that irritated and oily? I know, it sounds primitive, but after my trial and error with beauty products I found it to be the best solution.
Most beauty products aren't really healthy for the skin, I suppose. Many girls tell me they have to use foundation because they have bad skin. But I believe foundations are part of the problem. The skin has to breathe and that's not possible underneath layers of colour, cream, powder etc.

Go see a dermatologist. Then all your problems will be fixed. And if you think it is expensive, remember all the money you put into make-up (which is quite a lot).

If primer and more heavily pigmented, pricey foundations still hasn't solved your problem, I would suggest that it's possible you have a medical issue that a dermatologist would be able to help you with. They can supply medication to you that will slow down your excess oil production and that should help out quite a bit.

I know you say that you use oil free ones but sometimes they're still full of rubbish that will cause your skin to produce more oil. Secondly, have you tried blotting paper (really cheap from boots) and a good face powder? Many women have oily tzones, it just means that they have to powder their nose a few times during the day, it's no big deal. Also bear in mind it's summer so skin does tend to get more oily, just the way it goes!Have you tried looking at makeupalley.com? Its free to use and I've found tons of helpful advice written by real women who have actually tried the products rather than a journalist from a magazine getting paid to write it favourable reviews.
