A female Mexico age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I'm in a very weird situation.

I broke up with my ex boyfriend last August due to the fact that I was moving away, we ended on extremely good terms and the only reason we broke up was so the distance wouldn't ruin what we had and we could get back together eventually when the timing was right.

I met a girl through him (one of his best friends, let's call her "T") and she was very nice to me and she became my friend as well. T and I would text each other a lot, etc. I never thought this would bother my ex but it did.

I came back to my hometown on holidays and he did not want to see me. I hung out with T and my ex found out, he was enraged. After that, me and my ex never spoke much at all except for once when we had a huge fight over text about what had happened (it was mainly me trying to find out why he was so angry over me hanging out with T) but he said that was not what had bothered him. This was around November last year. December, I hung out with her again and yet again, he found out about it and all I knew was that he sent T a text telling her he hated her and they stopped being friends.

I felt bad for breaking up a friendship, but I never knew what the issue was. I understood, in a way (putting myself in his shoes), how your ex hanging out with your friend might be a bit weird.

But anyway... a few days ago, T confessed to me that she is in love with me.

I was shocked, all I did was tell her that I am not into girls. Yet she keeps wanting to hang out with me and flirting with me which I am starting to find annoying. I can't help but wonder if she did anything or say anything to my ex about her feelings, or even lie to him about something between us happening.. should I ask her? and if so, how do I go around doing that to make sure she tells me the truth?

It just seems odd that he was that angry at us hanging out and I always suspected something else was going on because I can understand being a little mad at something like that but not as mad as he got..

Honeypie agony auntMy guess is HE knew SHE was/is into girls and he thought YOU knew it too - which means he COULD be ASSUMING you ended your relationship with him, so you could date girls too.

But it is HARD to say exactly WHY he got so mad at you. Maybe he felt you "stole" his friend? Some people have this weird attitude abut other people, like they are property not free-thinking individuals.

OR he was interested in HER and she turned him down and because friends with you... HIS ex.

It's really hard to say and if he can't/won't talk to you about it all you CAN do is guess.

Should you ask her? No. If she DID lie do you think she would fess up and tell you? Doubtful.

The only one who CAN tell you is him.
