I am a firm believer in open communications.
Perhaps she would not be opposed to going with you to have coffee so the both of you can talk.
During that time simply ask her how she feels about relationships between employees in the work place.
From that point you can either persue her or if she says it is a no no then you can tell her of your intentions and add that you understand and that you will not persue it.
I hope this helps. Doc
