And it's not just them, I won a freestyle tournament where there were experienced people judging. My dad is indifferent but my mom says it's terrible. She says rap is all about hedonism and misogyny and violence and I said "yeah 90% of it is crap but it's the 10% I live for". My lyrics have some cussing in them but it's not that much and I like the songs. It just makes me so upset that my mom doesn't appreciate what I write any way I can explain this to her?

Point out that most new films are made the porn and horror industry so she shouldn't go to the cinema.
Tell her that you apprieciate that a lot of rap has anti-women lyrics but you do not think that and will not be influenced. Same goes with violence and swearing.
Good Luck!! xx

If you look for permission and need people to accept your music then you really don't understand Rap at all.... It's a lifestyle, a feeling, Rap is part of your heart and soul, and your mother's opinions shouldn't affect you at all.

Learn more about the history and development of Rap music and you can then speak with authority about your chosen hobby.
Many people hear "Gangster Rap" and think that this is the be all, end all of Rap and Hip Hop. Actually "Gangster Rap" is a relatively new addition, made to be commercial and is actually a bastardization of the original aims of this musical style.
Here is a link back to one of the originators of Rap and Hip Hop as it developed in the USA...
Afrika Bambaataa and his "Zulu Nation" developed Hip Hop and Rap in answer to the poverty and violence that was developing amongst the youngster's in 1970's America. Bambaataa's original aim for Hip Hop and Rap was "Peace, unity, love and having fun" Swearing is not necessary in rap, and can sometimes show a lack of vocabulary. Learn more about your hobby and then you will be able to become an expert and bore your mother to death.

It's part of what you learn to survive.Rap is a part of that. The style came from the streets. From the kids who talked this way, with this language because it was all they knew.So you can't just DO rap. You have to be it. To have felt it.That is where good rap comes from. It is as much part of the heart of the man who uses it as Piano Man is to those who love THAT song.Acceptance is wonderful feeling... but not at the cost of conservatism. THEY must accept you and not the other way around. If the parents can't accept how you like to express yourself in song... then that is their problem. Not yours. And they will deal with it in time. There are plenty of people, good honest, hard working people, that will like your music for what it is. For how you do it.If it makes you happy, then do not listen to anyone else.Flynn 24

Rap, for the most part, isn't good.
But there ARE artists who refrain from using those offensive words in their rhymes. Of course, those artists are not "mainstream", meaning they aren't as well known as the artists who use that type of language - but they are around.
Rap is an art of word play. If you are as good as you say, you can find words that are not considered "cuss" words to put in your rhymes. Then have your parents listen to THAT. Let them hear that rap can be good too. But you won't be able to convince your parents that something is good if you are doing the very negative thing they don't like!
Hope this helps.
