Until that is when a few days ago my mom drops the bombshell on me that we are third or fourth cousins, I don't understand why nobody told me before, I think she thought that we would have been over before now. But anyway I've been thrown into a bit of a frenzy over this, I mean we've spoken about it and we have decided to try and stick it out together. I know in the UK it's legal for first cousins to get married but do you think this counts as incest? do you think it would be safe for us to have children together in the future, and I'd be grateful for any other advice. thanks

i dont think its wrong, you both arent even related by blood. the only thing that connects you two is that you both have the same great great great great great grandparents. its not incest. dont worry about it. its all good and clean.

Put it this way, you probably share the same amount of common genes with the non-related people that live next door to you.

In england you can marry your first cousin although personally i have never seen the attraction, though that may be because all my male cousins are dogs lol If he makes you happy then i doubt you have anything to worry about - live your life and be happy :)

Personally I don't know anything about it, but maybe a Googling session to do a bit of research might help?

Perfectly safe from all points of view: you have nothing to worry about and this revelation is of NO importance to you.
