I'm with you there, I'm also single and most of my friends are all coupled up/married (hey where do you live ;-) lol - just playing!)
I've not tried the online option, though I know people who have met online and it has worked. My advice would be to try not to be too hung up about the nutty gf - there are lots of nice girls out there that are completely stable and fun to be around!
Can't advice you on where to start with meeting people - it's hard to "put yourself out there" without looking like you are, so I tend to go out with the girls when I can, do normal stuff and I'm hoping that one day I'll bump into the guy that makes my heart leap - they say that love finds you when you least expect it!
I guess I'm saying stop looking and have some fun and she may just find you - fingers crossed for us both!
