reader, anonymous, writes (1 May 2009): It's really sad but I hear this type of problem a lot. It must be horrible to feel so unappreciated.
I would have said to try telling him how you feel, but you say that he won't even listen to you. That makes things difficult.
Another approach could be to ask him how HE feels. If he won't listen to you, then maybe he might be willing to talk about his own thoughts and feelings.
But if he really doesn't seem interested, then I think you will have to make a decision as to what to do, whether that means taking a break for a while or not. I think you have to think of your own happiness, and if this is making you unhappy, then clearly something needs to change.
