I have been under some emotional stress lately but that part of my life has some what calmed down but my hair just seems to be falling out more and more. Whenever I touch my hair it comes away in my hand and while I was in the shower there it was coming out in clumps and all I could do was cry. Over the last month I've went from having thick healthy hair to hair that falls out if some one brushes against me. There is no history of this in my family. Why is the happening to me? I don't understand.. Reply to this Question Share |

that happened to me exactly and my doctor just said it was because i was on stress overload. i had so much going on and so much to do that he said that was normal. but if this continues for a lot longer , then i would go to the doctor

yes it could be stress. Do you colour you hair? i know colour damages the hair and can cause it to fall out. Talk to you doctor about it, prob is stress.

Also, hair goes through seasons, it falls out more in the fall and again in spring...I would not worry at all about your hair loss unless you are seeing bald spots, or a widening part line, I would say that your loosing hair is a natural process and you may be noticing it more because at 19 you are going through hormonal changes, and also may not deal with stress as well because of it..so just try to relax and keep your hair clean!

You've answered it in your own question.... stress. It's notorious for making your hair fall out. There are some medical and herbal remedies you can take that are designed to help and your first step should be your doctor. If they're unhelpful visit your herbalist as soon as possible and they should be able to give you something to help. Try not to worry because that's just making the problem worse.
