My girlfriend, who has been fine with my other humorous shirts, took great offense and refused to allow me to wear it, claiming that it was a shirt for single people only, and that it means that I'm looking for new people. We both trust each other greatly, and know that neither of us would cheat, and yet she still feels the shirt is a very bad idea. Is this reasonable? If it is, what can each side do about this? For goodness sake it is a t-shirt. This is showing her deep rooted insecurity and I think you should address this with her.

It should be obvious why she doesn't like you wearing this t-shirt. Think about it from her perspective, how would you feel if she went out wearing a t-shirt that said "Available, one night only", or "Porn star in training, available for auditions" or similar?

Are you serious? It is not important, it shows a little insecurity on her part, that is all. Give it to her, wrapped up with a red rose, to wear in bed with you! Then go and buy a different one.
