writes: Last night I was talking to my girlfriend about maintaining her self control (she got into a fight a few days ago and has also hurt a few other people in her past as well). She tells me that she's afraid she can't maintain her self control and that she'll just let me down. What should I do?? I just don't want her to end up badly hurt or make the same mistakes I made.

That could be possible. My suggestion is to talk about your girlfriend and give her some advise on how you control your self in this kind of any situation. Asking advise from some expert would also a good help to take.

If she has anger issues that are out of control and she is struggling with them, well then the best bet would be to send her to anger management or to a counsellor who can see where her problems are coming from.
