She has been trying to come out of her shell more and thats fine, I want her to. While I myself drink much at all, she is more of a social drinker. She feels very uncomfortable drinking around me because I choose not to drink. This has caused her to never drink in my pressence. I have told her several times that I dont care if she drinks, I dont really drink and I just dont want her to get drunk/wasted. The has caused and issue because she feels uncomfortable being herself(drinking/going out/partying) around me. I have no problem with her going out, drinking, parties etc etc etc. How am I suppose to get her to feel comfortable being herself around me when she refuses to be herself???

Why don't you drink with her for one night to show her that you truly don't care. Most women are very self conscious. I know i refuse to eat anything unless the person i'm with is also eating because i don't want to feel fat. And even if you say you don't care, even if you yell to the world you don't care, she won't believe you because that's just how some women are.My best advice-drink with her for just one night even if you don't really like it. Maybe you'll come up with a special tradition that will bring you closer together?
