A female United Kingdom age 26-29, *loveyhoo writes:

I have some really close friends, but i always feel insecure about myself. I have small boobs compared to most of my friends, there all like b's-e's, and i feel really left out cos im an a. Also one of my close close friends, who is ALWAYS there for me, went to me in games you got a flatty batty. I know im skinny, but can i help who i really am?

no, i eat so much, and i dont put on any weight, and when people make comments how small my bum or boobs are (to be honest i dont think my bum is that small nor big) , and how boys only like curvy girls, with big figures, i feel really unsecure about myself, and wish i could change. Am i not goood enough or something?

I dont want to talk to my friend, as i'll feel really unconfortable, and it wont feel right. But i dont want it to keep happening, i dont know what to do?

A female reader, Tisha-1 United States +, writes (29 April 2010):

Tisha-1 agony auntOh, my dear, you remind me of one of my good friends from school. She was an A cup and was always jealous of me, who had a B to C cup. Now the thing is, she was very attractive, with lovely eyelashes and great hair. She photographed like a dream, slim and lovely.

We are still friends to this day, and she still is gorgeous, and guess what? She can still go braless and look fantastic, while I need the assistance of some very geriatric-looking bras! I haven't gone braless in 20 years! Things go south, you see, very very south. Gravity is not a large bra cup's friend.

The other secret about life at your age is that no one is satisfied with what they have. The girls with straight hair want the luscious curls of those so blessed. The tall ones want to be shorter so they don't stand out. The short ones want to be tall so they look willowy.

People your age make stupid comments, things that are hurtful because they just don't know any better. Either that or they are mean. It may as well be time to tell you to avoid mean people. Even if they are disguised as the cool, popular people. Mean is mean, and that doesn't get better. Well, it might, because mean comments often hide an inferiority complex. Someone will put you down to feel better about herself. She may feel like a clunky elephant with bulges in all the wrong place and to make herself feel better, she goes after you, the petite, delicately built and graceful girl.

So when you hear someone say something cutting like you heard "flatty batty", consider that they are a) mean, b) insecure and/or c) pathetic and for sure d) not deserving of your respect.

Hang in there, it'll get better, I promise.
