Okay I recently met this girl and our 1st date is on the 21st. I've been on several first dates before but this is no ordinary first date. Actually its the oddest first date I or anyone I know has experienced.

Its her debs graduation ball. I never went to mine 3 years ago, so I don't know the procedure. I know its early yet but I really like her and I want to make sure she has a good night.

Can anyone give me some advice.(Dancing, clothing, corsages etc.)

A female reader, RedAthena United States +, writes (15 June 2011):

RedAthena agony auntDifferent Schools have different dress standards.

Ask your date if it is Formal. In most cases, a nice suit will do. If you get a corsage, go with a wrist corsage in WHITE. If you find out what color she is wearing to the Ball you can coordinate your tie with her outfit.

Will there be traditional Ballroom dancing? If you do not know how to dance, it might be beneficial to learn some basic steps, such as a Waltz.

I would call the Administrative office and ask them what is traditional for the Ball at that school.

Let them know you are escorting a student and you want to make it a memorable evening.

They would have all that information for you.

Best Wishes and have a WONDERFUL TIME!
