reader, anonymous, writes (17 January 2007): you should tell them he is a gangster at fun but at heart he is a charming good looking caring guy and you should tell them to look past his bad boy image and look at whats inside that counts not outside maybe they are getting a bad feeling cuz they are worried i don't know whatever the reason just try to talk it out with them ok good luck christmas xxx

 It's not your parents who are dating this guy, it's you. Therefore it shouldn't matter what they think of him but if you really want to sort this out get them together once and for all. Encourage your boyfriend to be charming and engaging and warn your parents to play nice and give him a clean slate to impress them. Hopefully this should resolve it for you.
