My facial expressions give me away all the time, so much so that people can even tell what I'm thinking, how can I rectify this?

To some this might seem very silly. I am feeling really sad about it. I have such an expressive face and eyes. Everyone (all and sundry) end up knowing what I am really thinking. I was hoping someone could help me to correct this problem. It's creating havoc in my life. Thanks for your help in advance.

Imagine that you are playing poker for high stakes in a game that you simply cannot afford to lose, and the slightest expression will reveal your hand to your opponents.....

Why don't you take a night class on acting to learn to impersonate characters so that you will not be so revealing.

I'm the same way- people can tell what I am feeling in an instant and it is very annoying. As the other poster wrote, try to practice in a mirror in order to work on your facial features. If you find yourself in a situation that could cause you to make a certain facial expression, try to focus or think about something pleasant or something that makes you feel content. (So that you appear to have a pleasant/neutral expression.) Otherwise if you can't work it out, just accept that you have a very expressive face. You could try out for your community theater and be in a play!

i can sympathize with your problem. I too have had this problem. I was known for showing my every feeling but I overcame it by sheer will power. I faced a situation where i had to sit under someone for 6~8 hrs per week who was intent on destroying me emotionally. During this 2 yr period of time i learned to hide behind an expressionless facade. That was 6 yrs ago, and i do hide my pain and distresses well now. Practice with a mirror as silly as it may sound, i found it very helpful. I know it can be done. Good luck! Mal
