My ex is pregnant, why is it suddenly churning me up?

I broke up with my last girlfriend around 8 months ago, we parted on good terms. We still kept in touch went for coffee and stuff (we were friends and colleagues before we started going out.)I knew she had got back together with her previous boyfriend shortly after we broke up and it didn't bother me. Lately we lost touch as I have been really busy with work. Anyway we were chatting online and she told me she was 5 months pregnant, -I can't get over it! I don't know if it's because she's so far along, or because I was one of the last people to find out. I didn't think I still had feelings for her, but would I feel like this if I didn't?

A female reader, Moo's Mum New Zealand +, writes (30 May 2010):

Moo's Mum agony auntI'm thinking it's that final confirmation that your relationship is really truly over, and that's what's making you feel funny. I remember feeling like that when my first love got a new girlfriend. I was already happily moved on with my own boyfriend and thought I was over him but I felt almost jealous when he hooked up someone new.

Allow yourself to feel a bit gutted about this but set yourself a time limit like a week or two and then consciously move on.

Good luck dude it'll all be ok
