hi hunny, my dad does things like that all the time and doesn't realise that it affects me, unless he said it nastily i seriously doubt he ment to offend you. If its still bothering you talk to him and calmly explain how he made you feel, i did this with my dad and he was mortified that the comment had affected me.good luck and remember you beautiful x

I'm guessing your dad just wanted to do the right thing by telling you. BUT.... the only thing that matters is how you view yourself, and so you should just take it as a loving comment and forget it. Everyone loves a few curves..... so you should be proud of them.

brooke5426 agony aunti know where you're coming from - it hurts cos its from your dad so you think it must be true. if it had been some random person you would just think they were being stupid but if its from a parent it affects you differently. i know cos when i was about 15 my dad suddenly announced out of nowhere "you should stop eating chocolate, your acne looks terrible" when i had never thought it was anything more than the average teenager. it hurt like hell and my self esteem plummeted.

Try not to let it get to you too much. i think the way to look at it is he is probably comparing your weight now to your weight when you were in your early teens, and yeah you will be different now - its all part of growing up, getting curves and having a womans body and not a kids. and if you had put on a lot of weight he probably wouldnt say anything because he wouldnt want to hurt your feelings (ironic huh?). or maybe your dad just doesnt understand that most womens weight and appearance changes throughout the month.

maybe ask your mum what she thinks? or even ask your dad to explain what he meant because us girls tend to take a sentence like "you've gained a little bit of weight" to mean "good god woman your ass could sink the titanic" when it was probably meant like "you look good and healthy". i'm sure your gorgeous hun and if you're happy with your weight then dont let ANYONE make you feel bad and dont try to change it.

hugs and kisses

brooke

xx
