He's offered to make it happen if I let him say something to his friend. So my question is, should I let him? There are two problems - 1, he now lives in another city and although I have some experience with long distance relationships, I've never tried starting something long distance and 2, if it doesn't work out, my brother would be stuck between 2 people he's close to. I really like him though, he's everything I want in a partner.

Even if things didn't work out, I'm sure your brother wouldn't feel uncomfortable, otherwise he probably wouldn't be offering to help. As for the distance, if this guy is really everything you what you want in a partner, it might be worth it. It is up to you though, but I think it sounds promising. Good luck! x

Why not take a chance? Your brother is always going to be your brother. If it doesn't work out the friend lives in another city so it's not like your brother will be caught feeling uncomfortable very often.
