 Ask your mom or dad if a 23 year old only wants your for sex. If don't feel comfortable talking to them about your relationship, you have no business dating someone this much older than you are.

 15 and 23 is a big no-no for one reason, it is not legal. IF the two of you are intimate ( having sex) he can be charged with statutory rape.
I think a 23 year old guy having a lot on common with a 15 year old girls is a little off. At your age this is a HUGE age gap, give it 5 years and it won't seem as big of a gap.
If you still care for him when you are 16/17 then maybe there is "hope" for you relationship. As it stands now, I suggest you consider what can happen to him.

 The problem I have is what kind of things would a 15 year old have in common with a 23 year old. He really is too old for you. Mentally and physically you need to be with someone year own age. Someone that is in the same grade as you.
Sure, some will say that 8 years is nothing ex. a 29 year old dating a 37 year old. And I will agree. But lets take it the other direction. Would you be comfortable dating a 7 year old boy? Seems kinda wrong now doesn't it?
Enjoy life with someone your own age.
