A female reader, DrPsych United Kingdom +, writes (30 September 2007):

DrPsych agony auntThere are two issues here. Firstly, of course you should go out with your friends since being in a relationship doesn't exclude you from having fun! Being dependent on each other without other sources of entertainment can be a dangerous path to walk along especially at your age. Secondly, Mr Sulky Baby needs a good talking to before you start walking down an aisle. Are you really sure you want to marry someone with his personality problems...marriage is tough enough at the best of times but it has to be based on mutual compromise. If he isn't prepared to give as well as take then I would be having a serious conversation about whether marriage would be a possibility.

kenny agony auntI think that your boyfriend is acting very immature by acting like this, thats what 5 year olds normally do. In relationships you are not going to agree on everyting, thats just part of being in a relationship. But to go into an ongoing sulk everytime you disagree is just childish to say the least. Your right, why should you be punished because of this, next time he does this to you i think you should walk out and meet the girls or something. Do this everytime he sulks and he may come to realise after a while how silly he is being.

All the best x
