OK, I really need some help. My boyfriend and I are both 20 and we've been going out for over a year. We argue loads -we try not to but we can't seem to help it but the good times are really good.

We have the choice of living together in a flat in a student block next year (we already live in a house together with housemates) but he doesn't want to because it'll be 'too intense'. He mentioned maybe living with one of his female friends -am I wrong to be so hurt by this? I worry I won't see much of him if we don't live near each other. Does he still love me?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (9 April 2006):

I think he is making it obvious that you may not be the one for him. You already live together and he already has a taste of what it would be like living with you. You are both young and sensibly going to college. Just take one step at a time in this relationship and give him space (that's what he really want). Give yourself space and growth also and have more fun with your friends and who knows, meet the right person for you in the present/future.
