My best girlfriend has been seeing this guy but it's been really hard for him to open up to her. Whenever she ask him questions, he chooses not to answer them. He seems to really like her. What do you think?

A female reader, YouWish United States +, writes (28 May 2010):

YouWish agony auntBoy, it's hard to advise you without more info.

There are two different kinds of difficulty opening up.

If he's just shy with his emotions, that's one thing. If he really likes her and is just emotionally shy, that's okay. He'll open up to her.

However, and this is a big HOWEVER, if he's not opening up to her about details about his LIFE and not answering life questions about himself, that's a huge red flag. Be really careful.
