He is always willing to listen and encourage me through any problem...We used to have very strong feelings for each other, but never dated because of bad timing and didn't want to ruin the friendship..But recently (like 2 months ago) I ended my relationship with my boyfriend and as usual my friend has really been there for me...but everytime I start to date someone he always tells me that its not a good idea, or I need to wait for the person that I am suppose to be with to come along...Even when I was with my last bf he always told me that I deserved better...He is in a relationship right now, but keeps insisting that I stay single to wait for the right person...does he like me or is he just looking out for me...

But I too have a guy friend and he does the same thing but he is only looking out for you. Good friends do that regardless of sex. I think it is you who has feeling for him otherwise you wouldn't think that way.

reader, anonymous, writes (24 December 2007): From what you write it sounds to me like you are reading into this all wrong. It sounds like he cares for you alot and just wants the best for you. Maybe he senses something negative with the guys you are dating and is warning you off as a friend. He is with someone else and there is nothing in here to warrant me to think that he wants to be with you on that level. Thats just my opinion.
