A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My best friend has been acting weird! Sometimes when I stare at him he stares back then smiles. I love talking to him but lately I’ve been to busy and haven’t seen him. Today I said that the bus driver’s son was so cute and he said well I’m cute. He talked about being cute. A year ago in shop when him and I just knew each other he would hang out with me during shop 8th grade tours and we would play word search and games. Laughing! This time he said that he would be talking to people. He said that he wouldn’t talk or hangout with grace but I know that he won’t hangout with me like he use to do. All those good times are gone. I hate that all the good times we have had together a year ago are gone. He used to spend more time with me. Why if he still likes me would he just pay attention to me when it’s just me and him? He used to stick by me and his cousin grace and now he never shows up anymore. It hurts my feelings especially if I never see him any more.

A male reader, CaringGuy United Kingdom +, writes (28 October 2009):

It could be that you're just growing apart gradually. Which is a shame. But it might be that he really likes you, but doens't know how you feel about him. Either way, the key is comminication. Why don't you try talking to him? Ask to meet him and say that you're feeling as if you're drifting apart and you really value your relationship and miss it. See what he says and listen to him. Hopefully with a bit of talking, you'll be able to fix it.
